EU Cooperation in Dual-Use Export Control
The Federal Office of Economics and Export Control (BAFA) is mandated by the European Union (EU) to implement projects in the realm of export control of dual-use goods. Currently, BAFA is carrying out the sixth EU funded programme in this area, the Long Term Programme (LTP) 2011. As its predecessors, the project aims at enhancing the effectiveness of export control systems of dual-use items in partner countries, with a view to reduce the risk of proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and related materials, equipment and technologies.
The EU outreach programme
The EU programme Cooperation in Export Control of Dual-Use Goods is a long-term project aiming at cooperatively enhancing international export controls of dual-use goods and reducing the risk of proliferation. Information on the project, its background, its objectives, its methods and the project team can be found in this section.
The conduct of activities – seminars, workshops and study visits – are the cornerstone of the project. Merely during the three years more than 70 activities have been conducted, addressing more than 1850 attendees. Information on forthcoming activities as well as on past activities can be found in this section.
Since 2011, 28 partner countries are part of the programme. An interactive map gives an overview of all project partner countries and links them to the six project regions. The section provides detailed information on each partner country and activities conducted in the country.
This section is dedicated to the programme experts, providing additional information on administrative procedures and answers regularly arising questions.
