The EU’s cooperation with Pakistan began in 1976. Current relations between these two partners is predicated on a Cooperation Agreement on Partnership and Development, which entered into force in 2004 and which covers a wide-ranging spectrum of areas for cooperation, including poverty reduction, natural resource management and education.
Pakistan has not submitted a request for technical assistance to the UNSCR 1540 Committee but has rendered technical assistance under the auspices of the IAEA’s Technical Assistance and Technical Cooperation programmes.
