Georgia
At the General Affairs Council of February 2001, the EU confirmed its willingness to play a more active political role in the South Caucasus region. On 14 June 2004, Georgia welcomed the Council’s offer to include Georgia in the ENP, and the ENP Action plan was formally adopted by the EU–Georgia Cooperation Council on 14 November 2006.
Georgia has not yet requested technical assistance from the 1540 Committee.The implementation report from 28 October 2004 states that Georgia fulfilles some of the key obligations of UNSCR 1540. Georgia also cooperates on the non-proliferation of WMD through the implementation of UNSCR 1540, the development of effective systems of national export control and the prevention of and fight against illicit trafficking.
