Kazakhstan
EU – Kazakhstan relations are predicated on the PCA, which was signed in 1999. A number of bilateral and autonomous agreements, including an additional Protocol to the PCA extending its provisions on trade in textiles, govern trade in certain key products between the EU and Kazakhstan. The relationship between the EU and Central Asia is framed by the agreement “EU and Central Asia: Strategy for a New Partnership”, adopted in June 2007, which focused on strengthening cooperation between the two regions.
Kazakhstan has not requested assistance from the UNSCR 1540 Committee, but has committed itself to fighting against the proliferation of WMD and to implant all necessary steps to fulfil its international obligations.
