North Africa
Morocco and Tunisia are currently the only partner countries within the region. Both countries are European Neighbourhood Policy partners and members of the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership. Their geographical location, both countries located at the Mediterranean Sea, bordering the EU makes them important partners in the fight against the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and related materials, equipment and technologies.
Morocco was the first partner country in the region, starting cooperation with the EU under PP06. Tunisia joined the programme at the start of LTP 2008. Both countries, being full-scope countries, have cooperated over a wide range of topics addressing various issues of dual-use export control.
